Samuel Marvin “Sam” Triester, 75, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on February 17, 1950, in Georgiana, Alabama, Sam lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. A veteran of the United States Army, Sam carried his quiet discipline and resilience into every aspect of his life—from his decades-long career as a construction superintendent with Clancy & Theyes, to the way he showed up for his family every single day.
Sam was one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet. He believed in taking care of his family above all else and did so with quiet determination and grit. Whether he was working long hours or casting a line while fishing, Sam approached everything with purpose and pride. He was physically and mentally one of the toughest people we knew—strong in body, and even stronger in spirit. His presence was steady and grounding, and his strength gave comfort to those around him.
A memorial service for Mr. Triester will be held 5:00 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Barry Yates officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Sam is son of the late Lewis Maylon Triester “Tuffy” and Lela Velma Davis. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karin Triester; his son, John Marvin Triester, and daughter-in-law, Anna Marie; and his granddaughter, Joanna, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his brother, Alfred “Al” Lewis Triester, and sister-in-law Linda, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
Sam’s legacy is one of quiet strength, hard work, and a deep love for family. He will be remembered always for the example he set and the love he gave.
