Catawba, SC – Mr. Jackie R. Burns, 70, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Born in Monroe, NC, Jackie was the son of the late Samuel Hugh Burns and the late Sudie Bob Starnes Burns. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Burns, brother, Eddie Burns, and brother, David Burns. Jackie found great joy in his work with Knot Yet Cabinets. On September 10th, he would mark 19 years of service with the group he considered his second family.
In his earlier years, Jackie loved playing pool and bowling. At one time, he participated in a bowling league. He enjoyed family gatherings and cookouts whenever the opportunity presented itself. Jackie loved to socialize and was always willing and eager to help others.
Surviving are his two daughters, Cynthia Petty and Jacky Downing; his sister, Linda Jackson; his brother, Ronnie Burns; his grandson, Joseph Beam; three granddaughters, Haley Carter, Madalyn Carter, and Katelynn McGhee; and his great-granddaughter, Adaly Goodman.
A friend of Cynthia’s shared the following quote at the perfect time…“When you lose your Dad, you not only lose a parent, but also your protector, your teacher, and your hero. Life changes forever without him. Nothing and no one can ever replace his love. Yet in my heart, he remains, my father forever treasured.”
