Rock Hill, SC – Deloris Jean Yeater Casler, 76, passed away at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Deloris is survived by her children, Michael Casler (Crystal) and Melissa Casler Body (Tyrone), and by her grandchildren, Alexis Gamble Gause (Ryan), Caleb Gamble, Matthew Gamble (Abby) of Rock Hill, SC, Brendan Casler of Greenwood, SC, and Lauren Casler of Rock Hill, SC. Three great-grandchildren, Miller Gause, Beth Gamble, and baby boy Gause of Rock Hill, SC that’s due in October. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Sue Yeater Amos, of Steubenville, OH, many nieces and nephews and her precious cat, Phillip. She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 51 years, Richard Noel Casler, and her sister, Brenda Kay Yeater.
A native of Weirton, WV, Deloris was the daughter of the late Dale and Elouise Hutchison Yeater of Weirton, WV. At the young age of 17, she married Richard and moved to several Navy bases until he left the Navy, and moved to Seneca and Easley, SC; then eventually making Rock Hill home for the past 47 years.
Deloris was as a homemaker and raised her two children, and many more that she loved as her own. She also was a Sunday School teacher and AWANA leader at Oakdale Baptist Church for many years until her health no longer made it possible.
Some of her favorite past times were going out to eat, shopping at Belk and Hamrick’s, playing BINGO every Monday night at Towne Tavern of York, going to Disney World, on cruises, and traveling the world. Her journeys took her to all over the world with Hawaii being her favorite. She was so proud of having her swimming pool and opening it up to the church and neighborhood kids. She wasn’t happy if her pool was empty. Most of all, Deloris loved her family and the time she spent with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at www.greenefuneralhome.net. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
