Rock Hill – Jane Burns Parrish passed away peacefully at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:19 PM. She was 68 years old.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill with Rev. Barry Yates officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
She was born July 1, 1954 in Asheville, NC to Allen Eric Burns and Grace Hughes Burns. She grew up in Mauldin, SC and graduated from Hilcrest High School. She moved to Rock Hill to attend college at Winthrop University where she earned her Master’s in Education. After graduating she taught at Ebinport Elementary School for 35 years until she retired.
She is survived by her children, who were her entire world, William Anthony Parrish (Laci Stephens Parrish) and Allie Parrish Kerns (Eric Lester Kerns, II “Leif”). She loved her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as if they were her own. Her grandchildren that she adored, Rylee Grace Parrish and William Asher Parrish. Her family that meant everything to her, including her siblings, Bill Burns (Donna), Barbara Ramsey (Bobby), Betty Burns (Dwight Davis), and Eddie Burns (Doris); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; as well as many friends that she loved like family. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Jane will be remembered by all who knew her for her intense love for her family and friends. Her passion for learning, education, and books. Her generous spirit. Her love for life and her “no filter” personality. She will be missed every day.
