Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Patti Dunlap Simril, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Dr. Mel Wines officiating.  Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

Patti was born in Rock Hill, SC and was the daughter of the late Malcolm Dunlap and the late Grace Riddle Dunlap. Patti met David in high school and it was love at first sight.  They were married 51 years and were a team that loved their family and friends without limits.  In her early years, Patti enjoyed playing volleyball, racquet ball, softball, sailing, camping and golf.  She and David spent a lot of time at the Rock Hill Country Club playing golf, serving on committees and enjoying their friends. They also traveled extensively in their early years.  Her love of golf was obviously inherited from her father, and that joy led her to play the Robert Trent Golf Trail twice.  She loved her visit to Bermuda and enjoyed her time with their couple friends playing golf in the mountains.  Patti found her calling and love when she joined JM Cope Construction as a Project Manager. During her twenty-one years, she was a force and a rare female in the predominately male construction business.  She built over one hundred buildings and was always respected and loved by her crews.

In addition to her husband, David Glenn Simril, Jr., Patti is survived by her brother, Mac Dunlap (Janet) of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Margaret Good (Jim) of Rock Hill and Faye Almon (Duke) of Charlotte; and David’s sisters, Clare Hayes (Windell) and Glenda Small (Butch) all of Rock Hill. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she adored, Michele Thomasson (deceased), Lauren Vonesh, Jennifer All, Craig Dunlap, Kathryn Grace Kompa, Megan Almon, Stephanie McKinney, Rachael Hernandez, Jennifer Larson and Kurt Small.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or The Ronnie Sherrill Project, 916 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 or at www.trsp.org.
