Rock Hill, SC – Ann Deree Harris Pittman, 76, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Prisma Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Ann was born in Charleston, SC and grew up in Easley and Rock Hill, SC. She loved sports, especially Clemson Tigers football games. In addition to the Clemson Tigers, she was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Ann really enjoyed attending her sons’ sporting events when they were growing up. She also thoroughly enjoyed going to the beach. Over the years, she was a neighborhood mom in Rock Hill homes with many kids often gathering at her house. She loved to bake and was an excellent mom and homemaker.
Ann was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church for many years and later was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, both in Rock Hill. She always loved singing in the choir at church.
Her last job before retirement was a receptionist at Griffin Pontiac Buick GMC in Rock Hill. She was a much-loved mother and grandmother and will be forever missed.
Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Johnny L. Pittman of Rock Hill; her four sons, Eddie Pittman (Deidre), Brian Pittman, Mike Pittman (Shannon), and Jeff Pittman; five grandchildren, Camryn, Alex, Parker, Ashleigh, and Peyton; and her four great-grandsons. She is also survived by her very special sister, Carol Smith of Fountain Inn, SC and her favorite dog, Esso Pittman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Curtis Harris, one brother and three sisters.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
