Anne Adickes O’Dell passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dr. George Adickes and Floride Adickes. Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Sturgis.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. Known by her grandkids as Nanny, she was most known for her kindness and devotion to her family. Anne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Pat O’Dell; son Patrick O’Dell (Nicole); daughter Ashley (Scotty); brother George Adickes; sister Carolyn Henson; and her five beloved grandchildren: Michael, Seth, Brinley, Abi Grace, and Ember; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anne began her career as a Candy Striper at York General Hospital and retired in 2016 from Piedmont Medical Center after 41 dedicated years. She found happiness vacationing to the mountains and beach with her husband, Pat. She loved him deeply and treasured the time they spent together. Anne will be remembered for her quiet strength, her caring heart and how she cherished every moment with her family.
The family will honor Anne’s memory in a private service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
