Mrs. Annette Lambert Wiggins, 69, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at home surrounded by the love of her family.

Annette was born June 5, 1956 to the late Gene and Sophie Lambert. She was the fourth of six children raised in the Lesslie community of Rock Hill. They were a wild bunch, but fiercely loved and protected each other. She was preceded in death by brother, Darrell Lambert and sister, Julia Lambert. She is survived by her brother, Carroll Lambert (Sandy), (Christine, deceased) and sisters, Sherrie Lathan (Buck) and Claudette Mendenhall (Eddie).

Annette graduated from the York Technical College Registered Nursing program in 1976, and worked in various nursing fields before settling into family medicine. She spent the majority of her career at Shiland Family Medicine, formerly Ebenezer Family Practice. For her, nursing was more than a profession, it was a calling, and she answered that call well. She was loved and trusted by her work family and known for her professionalism and compassion. She remained at Shiland until her retirement in 2017.

Annette met Greg Wiggins in August 1983, and they quickly decided they wanted to build a life together and were married on November 3, 1984. They spent 41 years living and loving each other through sickness and health. Together, they welcomed and raised two children, Cindy Comer (Matt, deceased) and Darrell Wiggins. She loved her children immeasurably and supported every interest or venture they ever had, even when that meant going to NASCAR race shops for summer vacation and listening to country music on every car ride. They were blessed beyond words to call her their Mama.

Annette was a loving aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews. They often referred to her as, “Dr. Annette”, because she took care of any illness or injury they ever had. Some have even been known to delay medical treatment until they could consult with their, “Nannette.”

She did not enjoy cooking at all and was thrilled when her children were old enough to fend for themselves. She did, however, love to bake and was always ready to try a new dessert recipe. Chocolate was considered it’s own main food group.

Annette’s very favorite people called her “Grandmama.” She delighted in everything that Sophie and Jasper did and spent as much time as possible spoiling them rotten. Hours upon hours were spent snuggling up to read, pushing swings, doing crafts, having sleepovers, and enjoying ice cream for breakfast.

She was excellent at making sure that the people she loved knew it, and she left no doubts. Memorizing everyone’s favorite things and making it a point to remember the little details was a specialty of hers.

Annette was a faithful member of Trinity Nazarene Church and a devoted follower of Jesus. Many years were spent serving in children’s ministries and supporting global mission work.

She was a voracious reader and often read three to four books at once. Her summers were spent eating tomatoes straight out of her overflowing garden.

If you are a friend reading this and wondering how she could have possibly been so sick without you knowing, well, that was by design. She didn’t want her last interaction with you to be a sad one. She loved you enough to give you one last happy memory instead of a tearful goodbye.

At Annette’s request there will be no funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
