Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Aubrey Edward “Ed” Kelley passed away on October 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. Born August 17, 1935, Ed grew up in Kings Mountain, NC. He was a cadet at Clemson University where he fired the cannon at home football games when the Tigers scored. He went on to join the US Army and served as a Combat Engineer for 9 years.
Ed was a member of the Masons. He was the former treasurer at Covenant Presbyterian Church where he also served as deacon, Sunday school teacher for 10 years and elder for 15 years. Ed played a key role in starting up the food kitchen at Covenant. Ed retired from CitiGroup bank after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Jane Maness Kelley of 62 years, and their sons, Aubrey Edward (Stephanie) Kelley, Jr., David Wayne (Cheryl) Kelley and George Curtis (Kim) Kelley. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 11:00-12:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1830 Celanese Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
