Rock Hill – Barbara Lee Baker Croxton, 82, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.  Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00-1:45 pm at the funeral home.

Barbara was born on February 11, 1941, to the late Robert Lee Baker and Maggie Baker Faulkenberry.  She was the beloved mother of two sons, Robert Lee Croxton and his wife, Crystal and grandchildren, Blake and Kirsten and great-grandchildren, Cam, Gunner and Holden and future great-grandchild, Harlynn; and son, Billy Ray Croxton, Jr. She is also survived by her cousins, Mark Smith and Beth Smith Carr.  She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brent Croxton; her stepfather, JC Faulkenberry; her brother, Joe C. Faulkenberry; her sister, Annette Sweeney; her aunt, Elizabeth Smith; her uncle, Leroy Smith and cousin, Charlene Smith.

Barbara spent her childhood in Rock Hill where she finished Rock Hill High School and enjoyed volunteering as a pink lady at York General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Billy R. Croxton for 38 years.  During these years she was a member of Great Falls Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School. Her boys received pins for never missing a Sunday.  She worked at Great Falls Middle School for 20 years in the Media Center, in-school suspension and the computer lab.

Barbara’s kindness, compassion and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the joy and love of knowing her. Barbara really loved the beach, especially visiting her aunt’s place for family get togethers.  Barbara enjoyed traveling, crafts, flowers and reading.  She was a member of Park Ridge Baptist Church where she was devoted to the senior group (Golden Dreamers). She was always there to help out when needed.  She assisted with the bereavement committee for many years.

Barbara was thankful for every day that God blessed her with.
