Rock Hill – We regret to announce the passing of Barbara Zeigler Gladden, 76, of Rock Hill, SC on January 5, 2024.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, R. Dean Gladden; her father, William B. Zeigler, and her mother, Margaret G. Zeigler of Columbia, SC. Barbara is survived by her son, Russell D. Gladden (Jamie) and their children Zoey, Piper, and Callie of Rock Hill, SC. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Peggy Z. Dodds (Dave) of Columbia, SC; William B. Zeigler, Jr. (Peggy) of Chapin, SC; and John A. Zeigler (Cherie) of Chapin, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a talented first-grade teacher in Chester County her entire working career and enjoyed serving in the choir and many other roles at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11am with visitation at 10am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1320 India Hook Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family is still planning a private interment.
In lieu of flowers we ask any memorial be made to the non-profit, First Book, to honor Barbara’s lifelong commitment to elementary education.
