Rock Hill – Ms. Bertie Frances Lee, 79, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Brookdale Assisted Living on Ebenezer Road.
There will be a private graveside service at Grandview Memorial Park on Hollis Lakes Road.
Mama will be missed by so many people and she loves her family and never met a stranger. Mama was a great storyteller and she was an avid reader. No one could beat her at Scrabble or Bingo. She taught us so many things like looking out for others, not to live above your raising, how to prepare a meal with love, how to plant a flower or a garden, and that dogs have a soul. To dance in the rain or sunshine and most importantly how to endure life’s disappointments.
Mama was a strong lady with a heart for others and she loves the Lord. From an early age, we remember going to church and reading the Bible with her. And she taught us, it’s not how you start but how you finish. And Mama finished strong, she lived past what the doctors expected and she never complained. Her last year was spent making friends at Brookdale Assisted Living enjoying her meals and good conversation.
No one will ever be our Bertie again, she was our one and only Mama. We will meet you on the other side where there is no more tears, pain or sufferings. Fly, Fly away our Bertie!
Mama is survived by her three daughters, Connie Lee Campbell (Gregg), Terry E. Lee and Laura Lee Rogers (Jeff); four grandchildren, Emily K. Smith (Andrew), Lauren Locke, Garrett Lee Campbell and Alicia Lane (Chris); two great-grandchildren, Sadie Lane and June Lane; her brother, James Wilson Lewis Jr. (Wanda); two sisters, Elaine Mosley (James) and Kathy Forester; and lots of loving nieces and nephews.
