Elizabeth Ross Burns Morgan (Betty), born February 3rd, 1928 to Landis G. Burns and Hattie Elizabeth Ross Burns (Lib) Died February 27th, 2025 at age 97.
Betty grew up in Badin, NC where she and her sister sang as the Burns Sisters with a local band entertaining GIs and locals. After 3 years training at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC, Betty began her career in Rock Hill, SC, where she raised their two children. She spent 25 years at Springs Mills, where she remained until her retirement in 1986.Betty was also a long time educator and trainer with the Red Cross and Bloodmobile, and also served as the president of the Industrial Nurses Club. After retiring, Betty and Harold enjoyed their time tending their flowers at their home in Badin, NC. Following Harold’s passing, Betty returned to Rock Hill, SC, where she lived the remaining years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold M Morgan, Sr, parents Landis Burns and Elizabeth Ross Burns, sister Barbara Ross Boger, and nephew Billy Boger. She is survived by her son H. Mark Morgan Jr. (Bet), daughter Karen Paullin (Mark), grandchildren Jennette Morgan Willoughby (Wyatt), Wesley Morgan, Suzanne Morgan Dhinoy (Nav), Eric Paullin (Jennifer), and great-grandchildren Morgan Willoughby, Lauren Willoughby and Oxley Paullin, niece Libby Talbert.
