Carroll Charles Hester, Jr went home to be with his Savior, Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Carroll was born September 26, 1935, in Rock Hill, SC to Carroll Charles Hester, Sr and Cornelia Ann Vaughn Hester. He grew up in Rock Hill with his sister, the late Barbara McCarty, and his brother Bobby Hester. He played on the1953 Rock Hill State Championship football team. He was also on the track team and won the Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin State Championships. After graduating from Rock Hill High School, he was on the track team at Clemson University and won championships there. Carroll was a foreman at Rock Hill Printing and Finishing company. He was a Sunday school teacher, and Deacon while attending First Baptist Church and Woodhaven Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Peggy Hester and son, Craig Hester. Survivors are his son, Carroll (Nancy) Hester of Clover, SC and their children Rebecca (Will) Crute of Aynor, SC; Rachel (Craig) Moore of Charlotte, NC; and Caroline (Corey) Rondeau of Pendleton, SC. Carroll is also survived by his special friend, Judy Williams of Rock Hill, SC and her children Lauren (Keith) of Rock Hill, SC; Meredith (Ben) Berryhill of Mount Pleasant, SC; and the late Christie (Daren) Spencer of Rock Hill. He was loved by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 18th at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Rd, Rock Hill, SC, with Rev. Jerry Devinney, officiating.
Visitation will follow immediately after the service.

Carroll donated his body to Wake Forest School of Medicine.
