Charles “Chuck” Robert Horne, 59, passed away peacefully at home on June 16,2026, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Chuck was born on June 15,1967, and called Rock Hill home throughout his life. Growing up he visited many places with his mothers work with the Eastern Airlines, and his adventures continued during his service in the United States Navy aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

He later retired from General Tire after many years of dedicated service.

Chuck found great joy in volunteering weekly at the American Legion, where he enjoyed helping in the kitchen and assisting with bingo. He loved spending time in his yard, reading a good book, and lending a helping hand whenever needed.

His greatest example of love and devotion was shown during the last two years of his life as he cared for both of his parents until their passing. He was known for his intelligence, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. Though at times he could be strong minded, Chuck was self-reflective and modest, and in the end always tried to do what was right. He was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Candie Hunter, Chuck Horne Jr., and Somer Horne; four grandchildren; his brother, Mike Horne and his wife, Lisa Horne; and four nieces and nephews and his four great nieces and one great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Baker; and his father Clayton “Buddy” Horne; his brother, Timmy Horne; and his sister, Christy Horne.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Jun 28, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the American Legion,
