Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Charles “Charlie” Edward Ferrell, Jr., 84, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

A service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229 with Rev. Ron Roddey officiating. Charlie served in the United States Air Force.

For those wishing to pay their respects, Charlie will lay in state on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Charlie was born in Rock Hill, SC to the late Charles Edward Ferrell, Sr. and the late Margaret Bechtler Ferrell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Roy Ferrell, a great-grandson, Charles Lee Adair and a granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca Adair.

Charlie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill, where he served in many ministries including his role as an ordained Deacon, working with Building and Grounds, and also Judgement House from the beginning until his health would not allow him to serve. He was retired from Duke Power as an NRC Welding Inspector.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years and caregiver, Patricia “Pat” Grigg Ferrell; his daughters, Tereasa F. Greenburg and Michael of Charlotte, NC and Michelle F. Riggins and Kenneth of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Michael Adair (Christian), Lacie R. Helms, Autum Brownfield (Jimmy), Tyler Adair (Jesse), and Jake Riggins (Erin); and his great-grandchildren, JaLynn and River Helms, Riley and Noah Adair, and Charles Riggins.
