Charles Lewis Carter, 83, of York, South Carolina, passed away on January 24, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1941, in Rock Hill, SC.
There will be a memorial service gathering to celebrate Charles’s life on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10:00 am Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Sherrell Carter, and their children: Chad Carter, Grant Carter, and Heather Pate (Kenny), Travis Ferguson and Tammy Helms. He is also survived by his 3 sisters – Charlene Cunnup, Margaret Sue Ratterree, Linda Payne, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ella Carter, his father, Charlie E. Carter, his son, Mike Helms, and his sister, Phyllis Turney.
Charles will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and his love for the Gamecocks, golf and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
