Charles Wilburn Presler, Jr., born August 6, 1959, in Rock Hill, SC was called home to be with his Savior on May 21, 2025.

A memorial service for Charles Presler will be at 11 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732, with Pastor Don Logan officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00PM – 7:00PM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 504 Guilford Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732.

Charlie’s love was steadfast and as dependable as his ever-present thermos coffee cup, his pocket t-shirts, and his 1997 burgundy 4Runner. He had a deep love and appreciation for his family, his friends, and the simple things in life, which he sported like a badge of honor. Charlie knew what mattered. During his too-short time on this earth, Charlie’s shining light and deep-rooted faith touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met. He was passionate about sharing the love of Christ, especially to children for the 20-plus years of his stewardship in Bible Study Fellowship.

Charlie is survived by Tobie (Ferguson) Presler, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 28 years, his step daughter, Kendall Leopard, step-son, Sam Leopard and his love, Nicole Gilmore, grandchildren, Addie and Tristan Leopard.  He is also survived by his sister, Marty Belk (Donny) and his nieces, Taylor McDonald (Cathy) and Kimberly Harrison (Al).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilburn Presler and Martha Hix Presler, his brother, Ed Presler and his sister, Madeline McDonald. He was also predeceased by his loving in-laws, Dot and Jerry Ferguson as well as his brother-in-law, Gene Ferguson.

Charlie’s personal and professional accomplishments began at a young age; he got his pilot’s license when he was 16-years-old. An entrepreneur for 42 years, Charlie had his hand in a variety of enterprises including the production and sales of clay pottery, residential contracting, and design, production, sales and brokering for the textile industry. One of his greatest personal career achievements was his invention of the Maggie Cum Laude, the first automated long-arm quilting machine that he created for his Prodigy Company.

When Charlie set his mind to a challenge he would see it through, regardless of the seemingly insurmountable obstacles that may be thrown in his path. This dependability and resolute determination were the cornerstones on which he built his life. This determination was never more evident than in the pivotal role he played in the establishment and ongoing support of Chrysalis Autism Center, a 501c3 dedicated to providing early intensive ABA therapy for children with autism.

The commitment Charlie had to his wife and step-children, his family, his friends, and his devotion to our Lord were steadfast, and his unwavering principles were a great sense of comfort to those in Charlie’s life. Charlie will be missed by everyone who crossed his path, whose lives were changed by the man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
