Cody Loraine Hyre, 28, went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2025 after a tragic accident in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Born on December 26, 1996, in Kingwood, West Virginia, Cody lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and kindness.

Cody pursued a career in law enforcement, beginning work at the Chester County correctional facility before attending the police academy to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer. Through hard work and determination, he achieved this goal, dedicating himself to serving and protecting the community.

Faith played a central role in Cody’s life. He loved the Lord deeply and had a strong passion for children and youth ministries. His devotion to Christ was evident in his daily interactions and relationships, as he sought to uplift and support those around him.

Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Cody had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether exploring nature or working on his beloved Jeep, he found joy in hands-on projects and adventure. Photography and videography were also among his passions, capturing moments that reflected his appreciation for life’s beauty and God’s handiwork. Known for his generosity, Cody was always willing to help others—going so far as to give someone the shirt off his back when needed.

Cody is survived by his parents, Timothy L. Hyre and Darla K. Hyre; sister Kimberly A. McCasland and brother-in-law John D. McCasland; nephew Grayson J. McCasland; and Grandmother Evelyn J. Shoemaker He is proceeded in death by his grandmother Leona D. Hyre and grandfathers John E. Hyre and Joshua C. Shoemaker.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Assembly of God, located at 1089 Edwards St., Rock Hill, South Carolina, 29732.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 12:00 PM.

Cody’s memory will live on through the lives he touched with kindness, faith, and unwavering generosity.
