Rock Hill, SC – Cynthia D. Helms Stanley, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 12:30-1:45 PM, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A Celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held at 2:00 PM in the Northwest Chapel, with Pastor Will Stroud officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Cynthia was a native of Chester, SC and the daughter of the late Robert W. Helms, Jr. and the late Helen Olene Ferguson Helms. She was a Surgical Technology Instructor at York Technical College and worked for many years as a Surgical Technologist. After receiving her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1988, she continued to work as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2001. She was a very accomplished and respected member of the medical community.
She survived by her son, Roman L. Stanley, Jr. (Melissa) of Boiling Springs, SC; her daughter, Angel Stanley Wall (LaKeith) of Columbia, SC; and five grandchildren, Kevin, Jarred, Randa, Matthew and Brianna. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Cassie, Elias and Nova, whom she adored; her brother, Tony Helms (Margaret); sisters, Janet H. Caldwell of Chester, SC; Karen H. Malloy (Tommy McDonald) of W. Columbia, SC and Lisa H. Thomas of Chester, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her husband, Roman L. Stanley, Sr.; her parents and brother, Steven Helms.
