Rock Hill, SC – Herbert Dailon Fowler, 78, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Hospice & Community Care.

The services will begin with a burial at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at Garden Sanctuary Church of God, 831 Cedar Street, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Patrick Conley and Pastor Mike Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service and other times at the home.

Born in Tabor City, NC, Dailon was the son of the late Herbert B. Fowler and the late Retha Hyatt Fowler.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Fowler, and his first wife, Mary Lee Fowler. He served in his career as president of Stockyards in Charlotte, NC, owner of Butcher Shop Deli, general manager of Lay Packing Company in Charlotte, and the market manager at Shaw Brothers Supermarket. He was better known as “The Golf Cart Man” and was the owner of Fowler’s Little Cars.  He was a member of the Lesslie Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years and a member of Garden Sanctuary Church of God for 70 years.

Surviving are his spouse, Susan Carter Fowler; two daughters, Dawn (Chris) Railey of Rock Hill, SC, and Yvette (Roddy) Burris of Cornelius, NC; three granddaughters, Maleah (Michael) Gladden and Karah Railey of Rock Hill, SC, and Emilee Burris of Cornelius, NC; and his sister, Delois (Craig) Williams of Rock Hill, SC.
