Darline Threatt Brooks, also known as Darlene Threatt, 81 of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7, 1945 in Lancaster County to the late W. Herbert Threatt, and Louise W. Threatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Brooks and two sons, Edward Lee Brooks and Scott Lee Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Larry Threatt, William Threatt, Jr., Mary White, and Loretta Smoak.
She is survived by her daughter Renee B. George (Kevin) of Chester, SC and sons William E. “Ed” Brooks of Fort Mill, SC and Danny R. Brooks (Sharon) of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Betty Waldrop of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, Michael Rodgers (Patti), Melissa Rodgers, Andrew Rodgers (Athena), Holly Doster (Jonathan), William Brooks, Kimberly Thompson (Tyler), Scott Brooks; seven great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild, and her nephew Dennis Dowdy, with whom she shared a special bond.
Darlene was a member of Security Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed flowers and crafts.
The visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10am at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White St. Rock Hill, SC 29730. A graveside service will follow at 11:30am at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with the Reverend Tommy Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
