Rock Hill, SC – Eric, 56, passed away peacefully at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, on April 11, 2026, with his father at his bedside after an extended Illness.

He was born on August 11, 1969 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to David Edward LeGrande Jr. and the late Linda Marie Weaver LeGrande.

Eric was a person who loved people in his world, especially those struggling with homelessness. He was always generous and courteous to all people. He had a heart for people who were aging and facing life’s challenges.

At a younger time in his life, he loved photography and was involved in photographing nature scenes, and friends and their families with whom he faithfully shared snapshots.

He attended York Technical College and Winthrop University.

He grew up at St. John’s United Methodist Church and was a faithful Christian who loved our Lord even through his years of struggling with alcohol addiction, which he was able to overcome in the last year of his life.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection of David Eric LeGrande will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 321 South Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC.  A visitation will follow in the Atrium of the church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his cousins: Rebecca LeGrande McFadden; Denise Smith (Chris), their children Josie and Jaxon; Tommy Auten (Terri); Steve Auten (Kim); Barbara Walshaw (Dwayne) and Chip Wilson (Tracy);  Aunts: Jean Auten (Herbert); and Alice Every.

He was predeceased in life by his mother, Linda LeGrande; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Alma Weaver; paternal grandparents, David LeGrande Sr. and Emma “Jack” LeGrande; and uncle, Ken Weaver.
