Deanica Leatrice Sams-Carter, age 51, fell asleep in death on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 27, 1974, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ray Anthony Sams and Barbara Ann Sams (Taylor). She was the eldest of four children and lovingly embraced her role as big sister with care, strength, and a nurturing heart.

In September 1995, Deanica married her best friend and the love of her life, Timothy Andrew Carter. Together they built a beautiful family grounded in love, laughter, and faith in Jehovah.

She was known for her radiant smile and joyful spirit. She loved to talk, laugh, and connect with people wherever she went. Her warmth made everyone feel welcome, and she would go out of her way to help anyone in need—no matter the circumstance.

She  is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy A. Carter; her beloved children, Timiya Carter and DeAundré (Bella) Carter; and her treasured grandchildren, Greyson and Braxton Carter, who filled her life with joy and laughter.

She is also survived by her siblings Damon (Lucy) Sams, DeAndrea Sams (Byron) Curry, and DaJuan Sams, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in memory.

She had a deep love for Jehovah and faithfully served Him throughout her life. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help others reflected her faith in everything she did. She touched countless lives through her compassion and the joy she freely shared.

Those who knew her will always remember her bright smile, her love for people, and her strong faith in Jehovah’s promise of a peaceful new world where death will be no more.

She lived her life with laughter, kindness, and an open heart-qualities that will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Deanica’s family, congregation, and all who knew her will miss her dearly, yet they find comfort in the hope of seeing her again in the promised resurrection.

“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
