Donald Lee O’Neal Sr. (86) of Rock Hill, SC passed away on October 5, 2025, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.  He was born on May 16, 1939, to Roscoe and Mae O’Neal in Pilot Mountain, NC.

Don is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Butler O’Neal; daughters, Terri Moser (Barry), Sherri Fore (Billy); son, Lee O’Neal (Melanie); stepsons, Charles Harward (Lori), and David Harward (Jane); grandchildren Kelly Moser (Janet), Lee Moser (Amanda), Richard O’Neal (Maggie), John O’Neal (Kelsey), Rob O’Neal, and Morgan Harward; great-grandchildren, Charlee Moser, Maebry Moser, Henry Moser, Lillie O’Neal, Erin O’Neal, and Elijah Moser.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Pruett O’Neal; grandson, Zachary Shelton; granddaughter, Mary Moser, and sisters, Peggy Goins and Verna O’Neal.

Don was a man of great faith which was demonstrated through his service to others.  He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill where he was an active member of the Manning Biggers Sunday School class. He repaired and refurbished wheelchairs though ministries at Westminster Presbyterian and the Caring Closet at Hospice & Community Care. He enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music.

Don worked in the textile industry for 40 years. In retirement he had many interests. He enjoyed wood turning and making wooden hand crosses, building acoustic guitars, breeding and raising Labrador retrievers, and owning and repairing classic cars. He enjoyed golf with family, friends, and Pilot Mountain High School classmates.

Don’s sense of humor and friendship will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1320 India Hook Rd., Rock Hill, SC, 29732. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
