Donald Spurgeon Reynolds, Jr., 87, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on February 27, 2026, surrounded by the love he spent a lifetime giving.
Born in Aynor, South Carolina, to the late Donald S. “Pappy” Reynolds, Sr. and Mary Pauline “Polly” Reynolds, Donald learned the value of hard work early while helping on his grandparents’ tobacco farm. From those fields grew a man of quiet strength, steady hands, and a generous heart.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, then returned home to build both a family and a life of purpose. Alongside his brothers, he co-owned Art Printing Company and Reynolds & Reynolds Printing Company, mastering a craft passed down from his father. His work was more than ink and paper—it was a reflection of his skill, pride, and strong will in doing things well.
Donald found beauty in simple moments: birds gathering at his sunroom window, seeds turning into vegetables in his garden, stories shared with laughter, and watching football games on the television. Every summer, he would purchase an overabundant number of tomatoes which became gifts of love, handed out freely to family and friends, just another way he showed how deeply he cared.
For sixty-five years, he walked hand in hand with the love of his life, Carmen G. Reynolds. Their marriage was a testament to devotion, partnership, and enduring love. He was a gentle and faithful husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Donald S. “Pappy” Reynolds, Sr. and Mary Pauline “Polly” Reynolds, and his sister, Rebecca “Becky” Snyder.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Carmen G. Reynolds; his daughters, Monica Reynolds and Brigitte Herron (Strait); his brothers, Larry Reynolds (Pam), Charles Reynolds (Margaret), and Raymond Reynolds (Debbie); his sisters, Kathye Frost (Jack), Debbie Anglin (Steve), and JoAnn Fletcher; and a family bound forever by the love he planted and nurtured.
Donald’s life was one of service, craftsmanship, kindness, and quiet generosity. Like the seeds he planted each spring, his love will continue to grow in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
