Donat Mallette
Rock Hill, SC – Donat Joseph Mallette, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm -1:50 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will be held at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Reverend Larry Twitty officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery following the service.
Born in Rigaud, Quebec, Canada, Donat was the son of the late Donat Joseph Mallette Sr. and the late Elmelda Decost Mallette. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Florence Dunn. He was a gifted Pattern Designer who began his work in 1957 in Canada. In 1970, he moved to the United States, settling in Birmingham, AL. He and his family moved to Rock Hill in 2012. After retiring, he enjoyed working at the Winthrop University Golf Course for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Lise Huguette Fournier Mallette; his daughter, Sylvie (Tony) Twitty of Fort Mill, SC; two brothers, Jean Claude Mallette, Marcel Mallette; three sisters, Theresa Mallette, Lucille Bedard, and Diane Mallette; his granddaughter, Tiffany (Ben) Yopp; and his great-granddaughter, Sutton Yopp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donat’s name to Parkinson’s Foundation, PO Box 61420 Staten Island, NY 10306.
