The family moved to Grafton, Ohio, around 1955. She graduated from Midview High School in 1965. Donna was a beautician for 20 years and owned her own beauty shop. She had been married and divorced before she and her family moved to Rock Hill, S.C.
Donna was the daughter of Harold and Lucinda Byard, who preceded her in death. Surviving are her sister Mary Garrett (Billy) of Crossville, Tenn.; one niece, Tammy Huneycutt of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; two nephews, Shaun Garrett (Jennifer) of Crossville, Tenn., and Brett Garrett (Meghann) of Rock Hill, S.C.; two great-nephews, Tate and Davis Huneycutt of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; and two nieces, Annabelle Garrett of Crossville, Tenn., and Adeline Garrett of Rock Hill, S.C. Brett and Meghann had taken care of Donna for the last few years before she had to be moved into White Oak Manor.
Donna had always been such a wonderful aunt, and she will always be remembered for all the many things she did. She loved reading, cooking, photography, and most of all, she was a fabulous artist.
Thanks go out to her close friends Michelle Rippy and Dale Moses for being there for her right up till the end, and also to Richard Stash from Ohio for all those 40 years of weekly calls you made. She loved you all.
Instead of flowers, Donna would want you to please donate to your local animal shelter or animal rescue.
Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill, S.C., is handling the cremation. She will be buried in Pine Grove, WV, in the family cemetery, and a memorial service will be held
