Rock Hill, SC – Dora Mae Carrigan, known to most as “Doodle”, 79, entered into the presence of the Lord on December 6, 2025.
She was reunited with her parents, Billy and Gertie Saxon of Waxhaw, NC, her sister, JoAnn Traylor of Harrisburg, NC, and her niece, Sheri Franks of Concord, NC. She was also preceded in death by her biological father, J. Frank (“Jaybird”) Nivens.
Surviving are her sons, Kevin Carrigan (Tracey) of Wingate, NC and Scotty Carrigan (Amy) of Fort Mill, SC; her sister, Linda Tucker (Ronnie) of Midland, NC, 4 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren, a niece and 2 nephews. She is also survived by her chosen family, Patty Glenn, and Michael, Christy and Micah Ingram, and several members of the Glenn family who loved her dearly. Dora considered Micah to be her honorary grandson, whom she unconditionally adored.
Dora is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. She will be fondly remembered quoting her favorite bible verse: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
