It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan Neal, 65, on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at Hospice Community & Care, after a swift battle with cancer.

Alan was born on July 15th, 1959 in West Virginia to the late Everett Ray Neal and surviving Rosanna Mae Neal. He was a family man, devoted spouse, loving parent, cherished Paw Paw and most of all was a friend to everyone he met, even the strangers at the gas pump.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sherry, of Rock Hill, SC. Son Chris(KaCee) of Rock Hill, SC, Grandchildren, Ryland M, Avery and Ford Neal of Rock Hill, SC, He is also survived by four siblings, Barbara Hellyer of Las Vegas, NV, David (Kelley) Neal of Apple Grove, WV, Don (Angie) Neal of Milton, WV, and Caren Neal of Milton, WV.  Alan is also survived by his beloved Mother-in-law, Mary Bays, of Rock Hill, SC and Brother-in-law, Donald (Cathy) Bays of Culloden, WV., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Timmy Neal of Milton, WV and Father-in-law, Jay Bays of Rock Hill, SC.

Throughout his life, Alan was known for can fix it, hosting attitude, who was still offering something to eat or drink to those who visited him in the Hospital or Hospice care. He was a Master Pipe Welder at CSI for 36 years, a tool enthusiast, who could have anything up and running in no time. He had a love for caring, which included breeding Angel Fish, raising 12 chickens, who lived in an Air-Conditioned Coop, and found joy in gardening and in his early life riding anything with 2 wheels. You could always find Alan in his shop fixing anything that was broken or even breaking something just to put it back together.  He was admired by all who knew him for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and the list goes on and on.

We were lucky enough to have gotten to love him and gotten to say our “see you laters.”

Visitation will be held at Greene Funeral Home on Ebenezer from 11:00-11:50am followed by a service at 12pm on Friday January 24th. Burial will be private.

Alan will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
