Edgemoor, SC – Elaine Black Simpson, 79, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Lando Baptist Church, 3737 Lando Road, Lando, SC with Reverend Larry Wilson officiating assisted by Reverend Dishawn Muldrow. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am till 10:30 am on Thursday prior to the service. Burial will be private.
Born in Conway, SC, Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of the late Marion Hugo Black and the late Ina Etheridge Black. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jimmy Simpson, her brother, Marion Black, her sister, Irene Black Rhoad. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Edgemoor Senior Center and Lando Baptist Church.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by two daughters, Shannon Simpson of Edgemoor, SC, and Libby (Jason) Marlowe of Monroe, NC; her son, Jay (Michelle) Simpson of Greenville, SC; her brother, John (Anne) Black of Santee, SC; four grandchildren, Brice, Will, Madie, and Kobie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elaine B. Simpson’s name to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20853.
