Elizabeth “Lucille” Rollins Watts, 85, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away at home on July 23, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 2 PM until 3 PM at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 Anderson Rd S, Rock Hill, SC 29730, followed by the funeral service at 3 PM. Burial will take place immediately after the service, where Lucille will be laid to rest by the side of her husband at Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery.
Lucille was born on January 6, 1941, to the late Jonas Franklin Rollins and Mamie Elizabeth Pierce Rollins. She previously worked for Celanese and served as a secretary for Springs Elliott Plant. Lucille was a member of Catawba Baptist Church.
Lucille is a graduate of Rock Hill High and grew up on Quantz Street. Their house was located in the middle of what is now Dave Lyle Blvd., where the Civitates statues are currently situated. She had a love for sports, especially baseball, playing every day with the neighborhood boys on the Mill Hill. She also played basketball and was a champion in table tennis. In her adult life, she played softball for Catawba Baptist Church and numerous other teams that would allow her to participate, often playing every day of the week.
She adored watching her grandsons play baseball, and once they were in college, she loved watching their games online and keeping up with their stats. Lucille had a passion for the New York Yankees and kept up with them online, with Aaron Judge being her favorite player. When she purchased her husband’s tombstone, she made sure to have the Yankee symbol on her side of it.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Franklin Eugene “Dink” Watts; her great-granddaughter, Elouise “Ellie” Iva Neely; her five older brothers, Walter, Roy, Jerry, Bobby, and David Rollins; and her sister, Betty Rollins Totherow.
Lucille is survived by her only child, Sandy Watts Neely (Chris); her grandson, Seth Neely (Brittany); grandson, Ethan Neely; and great-grandchildren, Emilia “Emmie” Jane Neely, Noah Franklin Neely, and Ezra Watkins Neely.
