Eric Ronald Rack, 81, of York SC passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Piedmont Medical Center Rock Hill, SC.
To his family and friends, he was known as Ron. He was born on the 4″h of July 1945 in Camden, NJ to the late Adolph and Betty Rack. When he was 15 years old the family moved to Nashville, TN. After completing high school, he began college at Middle Tennessee State University. His college education was interrupted by Uncle Sam and he spent four years in the U.S. Army. He was in the Army Security Agency and stationed in Ethiopia Africa and later at Ft. Hood Texas. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he resumed his college studies and graduated with a degree in Psychology in 1971. He had multiple careers throughout his working years but his favorite career by far was being a Hot Shot Courier. He drove a van making long-distance deliveries. During the 19 years he spent on the road, he drove over 2,000,000 miles without causing an accident. He was an avid bass fisherman and loved nothing more than to be out on a lake fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of thirty-seven years, three children, Cara Pace (Robby) of Hernando MS, Kristian Greer (Bob) of Davidson NC, and Bobby Koski (Angela) of Mooresville, NC. Three grandsons, Kaleb Pace (Aiden Schrock) of Austin TX, Braden Pace of Hernando MS, and Colton Greer of Davidson, NC.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his one brother, James Allen Rack.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2:00 to 2:30 PM at Clover Wesleyan Church, 102 Parkview Lane, Clover, SC 29710. A memorial service will follow at immediately afterward with Pastor Adrian Ballard officiating.
