Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Esther LeJean “Jean” Smith, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Reverend Mark Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Chester, SC, July 25, 1948 Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Hazel Elmore Ashley and the late Mabel Elizabeth Melton Ashley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth DalPoggetto, Juanita Hatchell, and Debra Elwell. She was retired from an extensive nursing career. Mrs. Smith favorite things to do in life were traveling to the beach, playing card games, and hanging out with her family, especially her great-grandson, Kingston. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Rock Hill, where she loved to attend services.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, John Lesslie Smith, Jr; two daughters, Candace Michelle (Brian) Harris of BayMinette, AL, and Krystal Lynn Moore of Rock Hill; two grandsons, Christopher Harris, Gage Moore; two granddaughters, Rosa Eaton, Rachel Harris; one great-grandson, Kingston Moore-Parker; a son-in-law, Danny K Moore of Rock Hill; many nephews and nieces.
