Evelyn Lundell of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away April 17th, 2024. Evelyn was born in Glendale, California to Henry and Priscilla Garcia. She went to school in Los Angeles and graduated Cal State LA in 1974. Evelyn married her true love Doug Lundell on Oct 1st, 1983 in Pasadena, CA. After they married, they resided in Atlanta, GA, moving to Rock Hill, SC in 1992. Evelyn loved her family and they were first priority, she cared for her dad and her sister Eileen when they needed her. She would always drop what she was doing when someone needed help. She was also an active member of her church. Evelyn loved to travel and did as much as possible with her husband Doug, traveling many countries from Turkey to Guam.
Fun facts: Evie learned to snow ski at age 65, and was an avid Los Angeles Lakers Fan in her younger years. Cats seem to love our Evie, they would find her either in Rock Hill or in Los Angeles. Little Guy who is still around at age 21, due to Evie’s wonderful care, showed up at her dad’s house in LA and eventually won her heart and a trip back to Rock Hill. Summer and Kitty Kitty also originated in LA and relocated via US Airways to Rock Hill.
Evie is survived by her husband Doug, her sister Edna and her husband Vince, her brother Rick and his wife Tina, her nephews Matt, Chris and Michael, her nieces Brittany, Jessica and Dawn and five great nephews and three great nieces. Evie was proceeded in death by her father Henry Garcia, her mother Priscilla Garcia and her sister Eileen Garcia.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her warm smile, kind heart and nurturing nature will be remembered by those who lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
There will be a requiem mass on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Saint Phillip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Rd E, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A burial will take place on April 30, 2024 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.
