Evelyn was born August 14, 1934 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Walter Joseph Kerns and the late Marie Belle Opelt Kerns. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her loving daughter, Denice Marie Arrington; her precious sister-in-law, Patricia Reynolds Kerns. She graduated from high school in 1952 and achieved the honor of Salutatorian. Her profession was administrative secretary.  However, she had numerous hobbies and interests which filled her free time.  They included sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, cross-stitching, and making Christmas ornaments.  Her hands were rarely still.  Evelyn also loved country music and attended countless concerts with family or on her own.  She documented everything through her love of photography. Evelyn was a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was the BEST cook!  She compiled a cookbook of favorite family recipes for her children.  Her most requested treats were fried chicken, potato salad, and “Big Fat Cookies”. A mom’s hug lasts long after she let’s go…
