Rock Hill, SC – Floyd Henry Myers, Jr., 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was the son of the late Floyd H. Myers, Sr. and the late Hazel Myers. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Louise Myers who passed away in 2002.

Floyd was born on July 23, 1941 in Keedysville, MD and attended Boonsboro High School then graduated from Shepherd College. He married Janice in 1963 and they raised 3 children in Martinsburg, WV. They later moved to Rock Hill, SC which they loved and made it their new home.

He worked for Martin Marietta, U.S. Silica and Industrial Minerals in quality control management. After retiring, he went back to work for H&R Block then later tutored at York Technical College. He also served on his H.O.A. board and served at his church

He enjoyed golfing, working in his yard and helping others with home improvement projects. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his companion Diane Duncan Brewer. They recently traveled to Europe for a Rhine River Cruise, which fulfilled a trip on their wish list.

Surviving loved ones are: two sons, David Keith Myers and Douglas Kent Myers; daughter, Deborah Kay (Philip Michael) Albright; four grandsons, Nicholas David (Ashley Glenn) Myers, Nathaniel Keith Myers, James Douglas Myers, Christopher Kent Myers; granddaughter, Tara Michelle (Branden) Weimer; two great-granddaughters, Kinsley Renee Pike, Harper Rose Myers, companion, Diane Brewer, and treasured relations, Stacey Myers, Liliana Myers, and Carmela Myers.

The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Irvin Plowden officiating. The burial will follow after the service at Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Floyd Myers’ name to Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2697 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
