Rock Hill, SC – Born in Marshville, NC, Fran was the daughter of the late George Washington Griffin and the late Belle Griffin Griffin.   Fran was born and raised on a small farm in Marshville, NC. She and her siblings helped their parents with livestock and crops. She married Benjamin Burch in 1957. They were married for 63 years when he passed away in April 2020. Although she will always be remembered as a soft-spoken, gentle woman, there has always been a strength of character born of her upbringing. Fran loved her family above all else. Many were the family reunions in Marshville, Reidsville, NC and at home in Charlotte. Fran was known for her love for bringing family together around a good, home cooked meal. She was active in her church where she was a charter member, and a faithful member of her ladies’ circle group and the choir. Fran was previously employed at Southern Bell as an operator then years later went to work as a file clerk at Liberty Mutual.  Fran treasured her grandchildren and loved having them spend time in her house. The kids’ memories will sustain the family for many years to come. Services will be private.

Fran is survived by her daughter, Kathy B. Raymes (Dart) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Kelsey Foster (Ashton), Meredith Smith (Denver), Alex Raymes (Mackenzie), Blake Raymes, Wesley Burch (Kelly) and Rachel Burch; great-grandchildren, Ava Foster, Henry Foster, Ellie Mae Foster, Benjamin (Ben) Foster, Hazel Smith, Sadie Cossel, and Maverick Cossel; siblings, Mercile Medlin and Warren Griffin and step sisters, Hazel Schoolfield (Tommy), Jeanette Redis.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mary Griffin; son, Richard K. Burch; siblings, Dorothy (Dot) Little, Geraldine Foster and step-brother, Melvin Schoolfield.

Memorials may be made in Fran’s name to Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church, 6740 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
