Mr. Frank L. “Butch” Welch, 77, of Rock Hill, SC went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born in Gastonia, NC, Butch was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Ernest and Daisy Messer.
Butch retired from the Shipping Department of Continental Tire after over 35 years of service. Following his retirement, Butch spent his time working around the house and in the yard, helping his sons with different projects, attending all of his grandchildren’s games and events, and always making sure they had whatever snack they wanted. Butch never once said no and was always there for anyone that needed him. He loved his family and the Lord with all his heart.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice Burris Welch, as well as his sons and their wives, Steve and Leigh Welch and Mike and Donna Welch. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Will) Smarr, Valerie Hammond, Todd Welch, Mackenzie Welch, Bradley Welch, Steven Welch (fiancé- Kelley Wilder), Jordan Welch, and step-grandchildren, Colbey and Brantley Therrell. In addition to his grandchildren, Butch is survived by his great grandchildren, Cambree Welch, Maddox Welch, Lailynn and Blaze Hammond as well as many extended family members and his faithful companion, Bailey.
Butch’s presence in this life will be greatly missed but we know he is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus. He is completely healed and will forever be remembered not only by his family, but all those that knew and loved him dearly.
Family will welcome and receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
The funeral service will take place the following day, Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 11:00AM at Encounter Fellowship, 1107 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with burial following immediately after at Forrest Hills Cemetery.
