Fort Mill, SC – Frederick Ray Simmons, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Mr. Simmons was born on June 17, 1936, to the late Cleveland and Jesse Watford Simmons in Fort Mill, South Carolina. During his life, he served his country in the Army, Air Force, and Merchant Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 and a life member the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his children, Fred Simmons (Donna), Mark Simmons (Lisa), and Matthew Simmons (Joanna); his four grandchildren, Joey, Ashley, Lauren, and Tyler; and his seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Erin, Caleb, Jackson, Max, Behret, and Emma Grace.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Thompson Simmons; his parents, Cleveland and Jesse Simmons; and his brother, Harold Simmons.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Mount Holly United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1996 Mount Holly Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730.
