Catawba, SC – Mr. George Hal Fisher, Sr., 94, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at his home.
Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Grandview Memorial Park – Hollis Lakes, 387 Hollis Lakes Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. First Baptist Church will host the family as they receive friends from 2:00 pm – 2:50 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, SC. The service will follow at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Jamie Burdette officiating.
Born in Belmont, NC, Mr. Fisher was the son of the late Robert Grant Fisher and the late Nina Mae Hill Fisher. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joel Fisher.
Mr. Fisher served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed exercise, particularly running and walking. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Rock Hill, where he served as a Deacon.
Surviving are his wife of more than 62 years, Edith Yawn Fisher; his two sons, Chip Fisher and Mickey Fisher; his two daughters, Valerie Anstey (Scott) and Judi Christmas (Ryan); six grandchildren, Scott Anstey, Morgan Anstey Steward (Josh), Alex Christmas (Vanessa), Chelsea Christmas, Aiden Christmas, and Chase Christmas; one great-grandchild, Ben Steward; one sister, Nancy Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Fisher’s name to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
