Gerald Eugene Goodson passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1941, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Shillinglaw Goodson; his father, Spurgeon R. Goodson; his mother, Marian B. Goodson; and his brother, Charles “Randy” Goodson.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret E. Goodson; his son, Todd G. Goodson; his granddaughters, Caitlin S. Goodson and Melanie F. Goodson; his grandson, Jacob C. Goodson; and his sisters, Nancy G. Hill and Lynn D. Johnson (Jonathan).
Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an avid Clemson football fan.
