Mrs. Gloria A. Dixon, 92, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Westminster Health and Rehab Center Riverview Hospice Care.
A service for Mrs. Dixon will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 1pm at Ebenezer ARP Church with Rev. Matthew Allison officiating, with burial taking place immediately after the service at the church cemetery. Family will receive, and welcome friends following the burial at the Bailey Activity Building at the church.
Born in Kingsport, TN, Mrs. Dixon grew up in Rich Creek, Virginia. She then relocated to Rock Hill, SC in 1959, where she taught school in the Rock Hill district for 31 years. Mrs. Dixon attended Winthrop University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, she was also a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa Sorority. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and was member of several bridge clubs.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by her sons, Mike Dixon (Beth) of York, SC, Mark Dixon (Julie) of Lincolnton, NC and Kim Dixon (Susan) also from Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren Rachal, Karla, Mallory and Jacob Dixon; brother-in-law, Tommy Hudson, as well as her good friend, Audrey Moughan.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Karl Dixon; her parents, Charlie H. Adams and Ruth C. Adams, as well as her sister, Betty A. Hudson of Rich Creek, VA.
The family requests that memorials be made to Westminster Towers, 1330 India Hook Rd., or to Ebenezer ARP Church 2132 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
