Grace McClain Hudspeth Pruette, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Grandview Memorial Park, 621 S Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Reverend Andy Putnam officiating. The family will also receive friends at the home of her son, David E. Hudspeth, Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 5:30-7:30 pm. at 338 Mariemont Way, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
A native of Rock Hill, SC, Grace was the daughter of the late William Edward McClain and the late Annie Taylor McClain. She was a lifelong member of India Hook Methodist Church and a current member of Tirzah ARP Church. She retired from John Deere Division Headquarters after 25 years of service in the Credit Department. Grace was past president of the American Legion Auxilliary in York, SC and taught Clogging for five years at the City of Rock Hill Northside Center. She was the widow of Perry Eugene Hudspeth and Cecil L. Pruette.
Grace is survived by her sons, Perry Glenn Hudspeth (Irlanda Sabin) and David E. Hudspeth; her grandchildren, Alyssa Hudspeth, Gracie Jean Hudspeth, Eric Sabin, Daniel Hudspeth (Kara) and Lauren Gregory (Conner); seven great-grandchildren, Salem, Ezra, Isabella, McClain “Mac”, Carson, Banks and Cameron and her sister, Shirley Dunlap. In addition to her parents, and husbands, Grace was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
