Rock Hill – Mr. Harold Woodrow “Dusty” Rhodes, Jr., 84, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Forest Hills Cemetery with Rev. Jon Oliphant officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born on July 22, 1938 at St. Phillips Hospital in Rock Hill, Harold was the son of the late Harold Woodrow Rhodes, Sr. and the late Eva M. Stephenson Rhodes. He was a 1958 graduate of Rock Hill High School, and ROTC Cadet, and attended Clemson College. He began work for Bowater Board Plant, later called US Plywood Georgia Pacific, where he was a supervisor and employed for 47 years. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #111.
Harold was married to Sylvia Giles Rhodes for 63 years and was a faithful father to the late Harold William Rhodes and his wife, Terry, Michele Rhodes Harbin and her husband, Greg and Mark Christopher Rhodes; three grandchildren, Alan Harbin (Hillary), Elise Harbin Ludwig (Mike) and Julie Harbin (DJ) Williams; and his great-grandchildren, Otto M. Ludwig and Sylvia Bea Ludwig.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Rhodes’ name to First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 201 E. White St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
