Harriet Heath Ferguson, 77, of Charlotte, NC passed away on January 16, 2024.
Harriet was born on January 27,1946 in Chester, SC to Susie White Heath and Harry Bascom Heath. She attended Chester High School and graduated from Stratford Hall in Danville, Virginia. She was a graduate of Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC.
She studied education and music and applied her training as an elementary school teacher and private piano teacher. She became a travel agent for a brief time however her two daughters, and later her granddaughter, were her primary interests. Harriet attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Chester, SC before marrying and moving to Charlotte, NC. Harriet was a valued member of the Myers Park Methodist Church choir. She was an avid bridge player, loved needlework and enjoyed tennis in her free time.
Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus (Rudy) Neely Ferguson, Jr., her brother William (Billy) Heath, Monroe, NC. (Ginger), and her parents.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Susan Crenshaw, Charlotte, NC, Anna Ferguson Manning, Charleston, SC, granddaughter, Neely Brown Crenshaw, and brother Gilbert Allen Heath, Catawba, SC (Jeannine).
A brief service, followed by a gathering for friends and family, will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The burial will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road. Charlotte, NC on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
