Rock Hill, S.C. – Hugh John Hollingsworth Jr., 78 years of age, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born to Hugh and Alluwee Hollingsworth, he was the husband of Sara Hollingsworth for 52 years.
John is survived by his loving wife, Sara; two sons, Mitchell Hollingsworth (Christine) and Jamie Hollingsworth (Jane), both of Rock Hill; sisters, Donna Wilson and Debbie Jarman; 5 Grandchildren: Paul Hollingsworth, Joshua Hollingsworth, Grace Hollingsworth, Faith Hollingsworth, and Clint Hollingsworth.
John is preceded in death by both parents, as well as his sister, Kay Daughtrey, and brother, Danny Hollingsworth.
He served in the US Army and retired from Celanese after a career of 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be held this Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive visitors prior from 10:00am-10:45am at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
