Jack Phillips
York, SC – Mr. Edward Jackson “Jack” Phillips, 66, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at White Oak Manor – York.
Born and raised in Waynesville, NC, Jack was the son of the late Johnny E. Phillips and the late Dorothy Gaddis Phillips. After high school, he attended Pembroke College and proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He enjoyed any history that revolved around the military and past warfare. He later settled in Rock Hill and in addition to his career, found opportunities to work as an umpire and referee. Jack loved all sports, so having opportunities to officiate brought him a great deal of fulfillment. He attended Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
Surviving is his daughter, Amanda Phillips of York, SC; his brother, Danny Phillips; and his sisters, Pam Leach and Judy Phillips; his niece Emily Talley; and his nephews, John Leach, and Peter Leach.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with Rev. Barry Yates officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the beginning of the service. Burial will be private in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at his daughter’s home.
