Jacquelin (“Jackie”) Reed Hollingsworth passed from this life on the 9th of January in the Year of our Lord 2024 in Charlotte, NC at the age of 85 years.
Jackie was born on the 19th of December 1938 in Norton, VA to Walter Leon Reed and Dorothy Barksdale Reed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Harold (“Sam”) William Hollingsworth, son and daughter-in-law Walter Randall (“Randy”) Hollingsworth and Cheryl Lynn Hosse Hollingsworth, and two infant grandsons, Jason and Justin Hollingsworth.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elizabeth Hollingsworth of Charlotte, NC, and her brother and sister-in-law Walter S. Reed and Sherry A. Reed, both of Chattanooga, TN.
Jackie was a faithful member of the Dilworth / Archdale church of Christ since the family moved to Charlotte from Virginia in 1966. Her late husband “Sam” served the church as an elder for many years, with Jackie at his side. Jackie was a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for many years at local hospitals and was later a highly successful beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a devoted caregiver, an enthusiastic hostess, a wonderful cook, and friend to all who knew her.
Jackie loved to entertain and participate in all kinds of activities with her numerous friends. She was an avid reader and loved joking and being teased by others. She absolutely loved a good birthday party! She will be greatly missed.
Jackie’s visitation and remembrance service will be held at Greene’s Funeral Home Northwest Chapel in Rock Hill, SC at 11 a.m. and 12 noon, respectively, on Saturday, 20 January 2024. A Private Interment will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The proceedings will be officiated by Russell H. McCullough of the Archdale church of Christ of Charlotte, NC.
Pallbearers will be provided by friends from the Charlotte Avenue church of Christ in Rock Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Walter S. Reed, Doug Baily, Lloyd Hase, William Ireland, Frankie Rhodes, and Tony Spickard.
