It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Mr. Jimmie Dee Vogt, 56, who passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 28, 2024 after a life fully lived.

Born in San Francisco CA, Jim was the oldest son of John Harold Vogt and Virginia Elizabeth Vogt. Jim received recognition early in his life for his surfing talent while growing up in the seaside town of Pacifica, CA. There he met the love of his life, Bethany Bippen, and the two began a long and happy marriage. Jim provided his children with a wealth of experiences that included endless soccer games, surfing at the beach, and learning to snowboard in Lake Tahoe.

In 2007, Jim moved the family to Lake Wylie, SC and continued a successful career in transportation management. He retired from his position as a Regional Director at Ontrac in 2022 and was revered for his tireless work-ethic and on-the-ground management style.

He loved to compete in poker tournaments including his favorite event at Rock Hill Brewing Company, hosted by his son, Ben. He also enjoyed long games of golf, fishing on the beach, birdwatching in his backyard, attending concerts, and exploring breweries with his wife.

Jim will be forever remembered as a loving husband and a providing father. He led a deeply impactful life highlighted by his significant contributions to his work, his charitable giving, and his selfless devotion to his family. Throughout his life, Jim’s goal was to leave the world a better place than he found it. To his family and friends, there is no doubt that this will be his legacy.

Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bethany Ann Vogt; his children, Nathaniel Vogt (Shannon) of Charlotte, NC; Benjamin Vogt of York, SC; and Olivia Vogt of Charleston, SC; his in-laws, Thomas and Carol Bippen; his brother John “Gio” Vogt of Fernley, NV; and his parents John and Virginia Vogt of Fernley, NV.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jimmie Dee Vogt’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor his legacy, more information forthcoming.
